Well in this article i show you that how you can add legacy contact or  you can say that how to give limited access of your Facebook account to your friend or family member if something happened to you . Well billion of people are using Facebook and Facebook is the most common and most famous social media used by every people. We have many friends on Facebook what if something happened to us how they know ? what will  happen to our account ? many questions arises in our mind.So today i will told you about legacy contact  and how to add legacy contact and how a legacy contact can use your account.

What is legacy contact ?
A legacy contact is someone you 

choose to look after your account if its memorialized 

Memorialized Accounts;

Memorialized accounts are a place

for friends and family to gather

and share memories after a

 person has passed away.


How to memoralized the account;


If Facebook is made aware that 

person is passed away then they 

memorialized the account. To 

report a profile to be  memorialized contact facebook .


Memoralized Account key Features ;

*The word Remembering will be 

shown next to the person's name on

 their profile.


*Depending on the privacy settings

of the account, friends can share 

memories on the memorialized 

Timeline


*Content the person shared (ex: 

photos, posts) stays on Facebook

and is visible to the audience 

it was shared with


*Memorialized profiles don't 

appear in public spaces such as 

in suggestions for People You May 

Know, ads or birthday reminders

*No one can log into memorialized 

account  


*Memorialized accounts that don't 

have a legacy contact  can't be 

changed


Legacy contact key features ;



*Legacy contact can write pinned 

post for your profile e.g he can 

share a final message to your 

wall on your behalf 


*Legacy contact can respond to 

friend request



*Legacy contact can update your 

profile picture and cover photo


What things Legacy contact can't 

do ;


*Legacy contact can not log in to 

your account 

*Legacy contact can not Remove or 

change past posts,photos and 

other things shared on 

your timeline


*Legacy contact can not read your 

messages


*Legacy contact  can not remove 

your friends


Note ; 

You must be 18 or older to select 

a legacy contact  


How to Add Legacy contact ; 


Open your Profile then go to 

settings then Navigate to 

security settings and click on 

Legacy contact 




Then Enter the friend or family 

member name and click on add then 

send the message to your legacy 

contact and its done




You can also give permission to 

your Legacy contact to download a 

copy of your profile by marking 

the below box and its optional 




Note

Only add trustable friend or 

family member as a Legacy contact


How Legacy contact can manage your profile ;

Legacy contact can manage your profile by following below instructions 

*Go to Memorialized Profile 

*In the bottom right of the cover photo click Manage 

*Use the menu on left to add a pinned posts , respond to your friend requests and change the profile picture or cover photo 

How to delete your account when you pass away ; 

Go to settings >> Security settings >> Legacy contact

Then mark the box of Account deletion then click on delete after Death and enter your password and submit it . 



Your account will be deleted when facebook will be aware of your death 
How to Remove Legacy contact ;

*Go to Legacy contact and click on remove and remove it
